Green is the New Black

For several years now I have tried to improve my carbon footprint because I figure it’s the least I can do. I know I may not be able to personally reverse the damage we humans have done to this planet but I feel better knowing I did my little part. Think, if everybody did just a few things differently what a huge difference it would make. I’m not talking about anything extreme, just a few very simple things. Here are a few thing that I do to help out:

Environmentally friendly materials – I am always looking for materials that are recycled so when my mom told me about these yoga bags I was super excited.

Reusable bags – I fell in love with these Envirosax immediately. They come in so many cute designs, fold up to be the size of your palm and hold up to 44 lbs! I always have at least one in my purse and absolutely refuse to use plastic bags. I feel like I am saving the environment one plastic bag at a time! Lola loves the camera, she just couldn’t help herself from jumping in πŸ™‚

Water bottles – Roughly 1.5 million tons of are expended in the bottling of 89 billion liters of water each year. Improve your carbon footprint by ditching the plastic. I use these canteens everyday and not only am I doing my part for the environment, it also encourages me to drink more water throughout the day!

  1. I love your bags! I am the same way. I have way too many water bottles, I just really love the taste of my water at home!

I try and bike/walk everywhere I can as opposed to hoppin’ in the car! I also try to eat local foods when they’re available and in season!
    PS: love that yoga bag!

  4. Great post! I’ve been driven to renew & reuse before it was in vogue. I’m so excited to see young people like yourself living consciously – Cheers! :))))

  5. I’m big on reusable bags and bottles too! Plus, they’re so much cuter than plastic ones! I also wash my face in the shower to conserve water!

I very rarely use water bottles, don’t throw away plastic bags often (reuse them), use reuseable bags as possible as often, shower without the lights on when its sunny on, etc! Hehe πŸ˜‰

  9. Those envirosacs are so cute! If I did yoga somewhere other than my apt I would have to get one πŸ™‚

I am all about the reusable bags and water bottles as well. It makes me sad that so many people still use and throw away a bottle each time they drink! 😦

I love living in the city where we rarely have to drive πŸ™‚ Hope you’re having a great weekend! πŸ™‚

  10. I love those water bottles!

It’s definitely totally important to do our part for the environment – every little helps πŸ™‚

I grow some of my own veggies, as well as taking my own shopping bags to the supermarket. It’s not so much, but like I say, a little bit at a time is all it takes…
